OVERVIEW

It was lockdown 2020 and Teamwork Arts and Ojas Arts was exploring how to bring to market an art exhibition to help raise funds and help folk artists across the country to promote their artworks.

The result was India’s first fully immersive experiential fundraising virtual art exhibition to support the indigenous artists and their arts during the global pandemic

XRC helped conceptualized, build and operate Fables of the Earth – a virtual presentation of artists and their art forms: Gond, Madhubani, Mithila, Bheel and Warli.

OBJECTIVE

The solution to be built had to provide art enthusiasts an opportunity to explore Indian indigenous art within the digital realm like never before. Since this virtual art exhibition will be the first ever time in India, hence the functionality and feature set had to be simple and intuitive. The average target age group was 45 years. Hence simplicity and ease to understand the technology and navigate the galleries were the biggest features that needed to be built in. The solution had to be 3D, interactive and should give the feel as if one is walking within a real art exhibition or a gallery.

SOLUTION

We built a fully immersive 3D and interactive art exhibition. Given the feature sets that the client wanted, we customized our most trusted virtual events platform- CUBE.

The solution was divided into 4 different art zones, to portray one form of the folk-art representation. Each zone had multiple layers of media embed, including videos, images and texts.

Each zone had an average of 25 paintings hung on the walls, few were hung on accent walls. The solution enabled the visiting art buyers to go very close to each painting, as they would in a real gallery. Options such as info on the painting, artist profile, price and buy now were embedded into the experience.

Some of the other features that were built to promote a real life like experience were: social chat, enquiry forms, simple navigation, quick look catalogue, and quick link menu for easy use.
