On the enforcement of the Fair Usage Policy, Airtel defined an acceptable ‘unlimited’ broadband policy. It introduced a custom Business Rules Engine that was to monitor user volume for specific plans and upsell to customers, on-demand, at the time of usage. The product is today called SMARTBYTES and tracks, records and analyses over 2 million customers, weekly using this platform.

NetProphets developed a bespoke platform, called the VTA (Volume Tracker Application) platform, integrating multiple hardware and software solutions.

We have led and continue to manage the project to develop the complex integrated solution after fine tuning and streamlining the automation processes and integrating systems basis a custom Software Integration Framework (SIF) developed solely for this purpose, and which has now been standardized for all Electronic Data Integration projects within Airtel.

NetProphets provides 24 x 7 maintenance and support for each year, with 15 minutes response time and 99.9% uptime SLA. Version enhancements and code optimization take place at regular intervals and as per objective, manual Intervention and query based customer calls gone to zero.

Brand has earned additional revenue through timely monitoring of usage and effective upsell of bandwidth on Demand. Upon launch of the web-based platform, the success of Smartbytes created a business case for mobile usage as well – however, NP is not involved with mobility applications.
